HALO Dog Training’s positive reinforcement day training is the ultimate win-win for clients. With day training, we come to your house and do the training for you! It is like graduate school for your canine companion yet you do not need to send them away to a board and train facility where punishment is often part of the training process. All training occurs in your home and neighborhood – the places where your dog spends all its time and gets into the most trouble. We arrange and use as many real-life trials as we can and get out of the house to train in key environments. A focus is placed on proofing behavior for distraction in these environments.

The HALO Puppy Jumpstart program provides the foundation for a lifelong partnership with your dog based on mutual trust and understanding. Multiple behavioral studies indicate the learning ability of an 8-week-old puppy is equal to that of an adult dog.

The Well-Shaped Dog II is the perfect way to enhance the fluency of the behaviors learned during The Well-Shaped Dog. Fluency refers to an animal’s (or person’s) ability to perform a given behavior with accuracy, responsiveness, and speed in any environment.
Private Coaching
With private coaching, we come to your house for one-on-one coaching targeted at solving problem behaviors and “Shaping the Dog of Your Dreams”. After an initial assessment, we create a customized training plan to address your most pressing behavioral concerns and set goals for your dog. We don’t focus on what you don’t want, we focus on what you do want. Private coaching is ideal for addressing problem behaviors such as jumping up, not coming when called, pulling on leash, excessive barking, and other issues. We give you homework between appointments so that you can work on the behaviors taught. When you put in the work, your dog will be able to advance to the next step of our training plan and progress rapidly. We will be “Shaping the Dog of Your Dreams.”

About Heather, KPA-CTP
Heather Steiner, KPA-CTP, has been working with dogs for over 20 years. Heather’s focus was on the training and rehabilitation of rescue and shelter dogs before founding HALO Dog Training. She is an R+ positive reinforcement dog trainer and communicator who excels at designing training plans for puppies and creating behavior modification plans to address serious behavior issues for dogs of all ages. Heather not only has a special interest in early learning and socialization to prepare puppies for a lifetime spent with people, but also has a keen interest in addressing problem behaviors that will enable dogs to remain in loving homes.
